Cookie Policy - Information statement on the processing of personal data
The reason for processing this information
Pursuant to Article 13 of EU Regulation 2016/679 ("Regulation") and Legislative Decree 196/2003 ("Privacy Code"), Fondazione Università Ca’ Foscari ("Fondazione"), provides you with information regarding the processing of personal data collected during the navigation of the website (https://fondazione.unive.it - “Website”), by cookies and/or other tracking tools present on the same.
A "cookie" is defined as a small text string that a site sends to the user's device (where it is automatically stored) and then sent back to the Website or a third party whenever the same user accesses the site again using the same device.
In this Policy, for simplicity, we use the term "Cookie/s" to refer to both cookies, as defined above, and any other tracking tools on the Website.
Data Controller
The data controller of your data is Fondazione Università Ca’ Foscari, located at Dorsoduro 3246, 30123, Venice represented by its current Director General. Since 2010, the Fondazione has operated as an instrumental entity supporting the Ca’ Foscari University.
Data Protection Officer
The Fondazione has appointed a Data Protection Officer ("DPO"), who can be contacted by writing an email to dpo.fondazione.cf@unive.it
Categories of cookies, collected data, purposes and legal bases
The following types of cookies are present on the Website (please refer to the cookie list at the end of the policy for detailed information about each cookie):
- Technical or session cookies: these cookies are necessary to manage log-in and access to the restricted area of the Website, and to save preferences on cookie installation.
The data collected through these cookies are: the user's IP address, date and time of the visit, method of sending the data, requested resource, response to the request, size in bytes of the response, the user's source link to the requested resource, operating system used, type of browser, and type of device used to browse (PC, smartphones, etc.).
The legal basis for such processing is provided by Art. 6.1(b) of the Regulations ("service provided at the request of the data subject").
It is not possible to disable these cookies from the Fondazione banner, because disabling them would affect the Website navigation. - Analytical (first-party) cookies: the cookies are useful for understanding how visitors interact with the Website by measuring visits to various pages; they also improve the performance and usability of the Website by processing aggregate data to create statistics. The analytical cookies in use are issued by the Fondazione.
Data collected are: user IP, page visited, browser language, average time of visit, actions on page (downloads, outlinks), first visit, last visit, device used.
The legal basis for such processing is provided by Art. 6.1(b) of the Regulations ("service provided at the request of the data subject").
It is not possible to disable these cookies from the Fondazione banner. - Third party (social network): these cookies are issued by third parties. These data are therefore collected by the latter, not by the operator of the website you are browsing; they collect data about the user's browsing and preferences. The Website contains Google - YouTube cookies (to enable users to view videos uploaded to YouTube featured on the Website, as well as the Fondazione to evaluate the effectiveness of institutional communication activities), the operation of which is managed by Google. The Fondazione has visibility, in an anonymous and aggregated form, only of statistical data made available by the providers of the platforms mentioned above in its capacity as Co-Processor with them, in accordance with the provisions of ruling C-210/16 of 5 June 2018 of the European Union Court of Justice.
The legal basis for such processing is Article 6.1(a) of the Regulation ("the data subject has given consent to the processing of their personal data”).
During the first visit to the Website, users are asked, through a special banner, their consent to such cookies being installed. Failure to consent or its subsequent revocation through the "disable cookies" setting will not affect navigation on the Website itself.
Users can object to the saving of cookies on their hard disk by configuring their browsers to disable them (below is the link containing the disabling methods offered by the main browsers: Google Chrome, Safari, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge). After this operation, however, some fuctions of the web pages may not run properly.

Procedures of processing
The processing of personal data will be carried out by employees and collaborators of Fondazione, and by persons specifically authorized by the same who act on the basis of specific instructions provided regarding the purposes and methods of such processing (in compliance with the provisions of Article 29 of the Regulation and Article 2-quaterdecies of Legislative Decree No. 196/2003), using computerized procedures, adopting technical and organizational measures appropriate to protect them from unauthorized or unlawful access, destruction, loss of integrity and confidentiality, including accidental.

Recipients and categories of recipients of personal data
For the above purposes, individuals who perform outsourced operations on behalf of Fondazione may also process personal data in their capacity as Data Processors (such as, for example, IT service providers, communication agencies, etc.). The list of Data Processors can be requested from the Controller at any time by writing an e-mail to: dpo.fondazione.cf@unive.it.
Right to Complaint
Data subjects who believe that the processing of personal data relating to them carried out through this Website violates the provisions of the Regulation, have the right to lodge a complaint with the Guarantor for the Protection of Personal Data, as per Article 77 of the Regulation, or to take appropriate legal action (Article 79 of the Regulation).
Social Media Appendix
There are social media buttons on the Website that are dedicated 'buttons' that depict social-network icons (e.g., Facebook, YouTube, X, and LinkedIn). They allow users who are browsing the Website to 'click' and directly interact with the social-media platforms.
The social-media buttons used by the Website are links that redirect to the social-media accounts of the Data Subject. Thus, by clicking on these buttons, no third-party cookies are installed on the Website. However, links are provided where the user can view the privacy policy regarding data management by the socials to which the buttons refer.
As a supplement to the Information on processing the personal data of the Website users, made pursuant to Article 13 of the EU Regulation 2016/679, the Fondazione informs users who access its institutional pages in social media (e.g. Facebook, Instagram) that the Fondazione processes, in an anonymous and aggregated form, statistical data made available by the providers of the above mentioned platforms in their capacity as Joint Data Controllers with these platforms, in accordance with the provisions of ruling C-210/16 of 5 June 2018 of the European Union Court of Justice.
In addition, the Fondazione processes personal data provided by users through the pages of its social-media platforms as part of its institutional purposes solely to manage interactions with users (comments, public posts, etc.).
