Mission

Ca’ Foscari University entrusts Fondazione with the publishing of journals and book series in digital format in all areas of research under the name of  Edizioni Ca' Foscari - Venice University Press, with the aim of fostering the dissemination of the University's research results to the national and international scientific community. 
All texts and research reach publication after a thorough peer-review process carried out by a scientific committee that ascertains their quality. Research material undergoes careful editorial curation and is indexed in large online bibliographic databases. All publications are made available via the Internet with immediate and free access according to Open Access Gold standards, in an effort to nurture and foster the free sharing of knowledge.
Edizioni Ca' Foscari is a member of the Association of Open Access Academic Publishers - OASPA and contributes to attracting publishing projects also at the international level, promoting Ca’ Foscari to the scientific community.
 

Fondazione’s identity is based on a system of relationships and connections with institutions, companies, professionals and other stakeholders. The network of more than 100,000 Ca’ Foscari graduates around the world is a pivotal resource in this context.  
Thanks to this network of people and expertise, Fondazione promotes its own projects, as well as University projects and shared projects, coordinating fundraising both from private individuals and from regional, national and international public calls.
The Foundation is the point of reference for the development of a territorial network aimed at community growth and the creation and dissemination of social value.
 

Fondazione Università Ca’ Foscari operates in the field of higher education through the administrative management of Ca’ Foscari Challenge School, the executive ‘Lifelong Learning’ School of Ca’ Foscari University of Venice that provides specific, specialised courses for recent graduates, professionals, businesses and public organisations to enhance their professional expertise.
Ca’ Foscari Challenge School addresses contemporary complexity by creating and transferring value, vision and drive for innovation, also through tailor-made teaching experiences. 
 

Fondazione Università Ca’ Foscari counts on a long-standing experience in the management of public engagement initiatives carried out in close connection with local cultural institutions. Events include conferences, exhibitions, literature festivals, film festivals, theater and music performances, corporate events, as well as major initiatives included in the annual schedule of cultural events of the city of Venice. 
Fondazione operates by enhancing historic locations, gardens and courtyards, modern multipurpose spaces of the University. 
 

In line with Ca Foscari’s objectives for the Third Mission outlined in its Strategic Plan, Fondazione operates with the aim of creating value for the territory by promoting an ecosystem that becomes an accelerator of projects and activities involving institutions, economic, productive and professional organizations, aimed at technology transfer and knowledge enhancement.
Our Knowledge Transfer activities consist in applied research and consulting initiatives in partnership with institutions, companies and third parties, which are carried out through the synergistic involvement of the expertise of the University's faculty and researchers and the experience of in-house professionals, in a wide range of thematic directions. Fondazione also manages specific Competence Centers on topics of interest to the territory. 
Fondazione Università Ca’ Foscari also supports the implementation of the University's Innovative Learning Laboratories.
 

Fondazione offers administrative support to the  Contract Certification Commission [ITA], which offers certification services to companies and employers that help  limit the impact of the inspection activity of the agencies in charge (Inps, Dtl). In addition, the Commission's use of contract certification allows to sign waivers and irrevocable settlements and to reach conciliations between the parties, thus preventing litigation.
