Description

Fondazione Università Ca’ Foscari is a partner in the Extended Partnership “RETURN: multi-Risk sciEnce for resilienT commUnities undeR a changiNg climate,” an initiative funded by MUR through Next Generation EU PNRR funds aimed at strengthening key competencies, technology and knowledge transfer, as well as enhancingItalian governance in the field of disaster risk management and anthropogenic degradation with the involvement of public administrations, stakeholders, and private companies.
The main scientific objectives, in line with the new challenges proposed by the goals and priorities of the National Research Plan (NRP), concern: 

  • a better understanding of environmental, natural and anthropogenic hazards and their interrelation with the effects of climate change
  • an improved ability to forecast risks, with the development of methodologies for prevention, adaptation and mitigation. 

Emphasis will also be placed on developing new methodologies and technologies for monitoring, promoting more efficient and sustainable use of data, products and services, and strengthening the bridge between research and end products, cross-valuing expertise, technology transfer and service integration.

Fondazione Return is composed of other 25 partners (12 Universities, 5 Research and Competence Centers, 6 private bodies, 2 local authorities and the Civil Defense Department, for a total investment by MUR of 115.000.000 €.

The three-year project (2022 - 2025) has a budget of 464,186 euros allocated to Fondazione Università Ca’ Foscari, which directly participates in the development of the research project through activities carried out by its own staff.
