Fondazione Università Ca' Foscari, with headquarters in Venice, Ca' Dolfin - Calle Larga Ca' Foscari - Dorsoduro 3859/A, 30123 Venice Italy (hereinafter also referred to as the "Fondazione"), pays the utmost attention to the security and confidentiality of personal data of its users in the conduct of its activities.
Fondazione is therefore the Data controller of personal data collected on this website (hereinafter the 'Website').
Which personal data concerning you may be collected
Fondazione may collect the following categories of data, collectively referred to as “Personal Data”:
- Contact information: data related to first and last name, email address, landline/mobile phone number;
- Other personal data – any additional personal data included in emails sent to usi;
Regarding the Website usage data, i.e. information about how users use our website, open or forward our communications, including information collected through cookies, Fondazione refers to the Ca' Foscari Information on the processing of personal data of the website users which provides the platform that hosts the Website, and which processes this type of information as an independent data controller www.unive.it.
How we collect your personal data
The Fondazione collects and processes your Personal Data under the following circumstances:
- if you contact us for more information using the contact details in the 'Contacts and Staff' section;
- If you contact us with any reports at the contact details in the "Transparent Fondazione" section.
If you provide personal data on behalf of someone else, you must first ensure that those concerned have read this Privacy Policy.
Please help us keep your Personal Data updated by informing us of any changes to them.
The purposes for which your personal data may be used
The processing of personal data must be legitimised by one of the legal prerequisites provided for by current legislation on the protection of personal data as described below.
- Managing feedback to inquieries
The Fondazione will process your contact data and other personal data to enable you to receive feedback from us regarding your inquiries.
Processing prerequisite: performance of pre-contractual measures.
Providing such data is compulsory in order to meet your requests and if you fail to do so, we will not be able to proceed. - Defence of rights in the event of judicial, administrative, or out-of-court proceedings and in the context of disputes arising in connection with the services/operations offered.
Fondazione may process your contact data and other personal data to defend its rights, or take action, or even make claims against you or third parties.
Processing prerequisite: legitimate interest of the Fondazione in safeguarding its rights.
The providing of personal data for this purpose is mandatory as the Fondazione would otherwise be unable to fulfil its legal obligations. - Purposes connected with obligations laid down in laws, regulations or EU legislation, with provisions/requirements of authorities empowered to do so by law, and/or with supervisory and control bodies.

The providing of personal data for this purpose is mandatory as the Fondazione would otherwise be unable to fulfil its legal obligations.
How we ensure your personal data is kept secure
The Fondazione uses all security measures necessary to improve the protection and maintenance of the security, integrity and accessibility of your personal data.
All your personal data is stored on our secure servers (or secure paper copies) or those of our suppliers or business partners, and are accessible and usable in accordance with our security standards and policies (or equivalent standards for our suppliers or business partners).
Period of retaining your information
We retain your personal data for only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which they were collected, or for any other related legitimate reason. Thus, if your personal data are processed for two different purposes, we will retain the data until the purpose with the longest term ends; however, we will no longer process the data for which the retention period has ended.

Your personal data that are no longer necessary, or for which there is no longer a legal basis for their retention, will be anonymized irreversibly (and thus can be stored) or securely destroyed.

- Defence of rights in the course of judicial, administrative or out-of-court proceedings, and in the context of disputes that have arisen in connection with the services/operations provided: your personal data for this purpose may be retained for as long as is necessary to process the request, or to pursue the protection of your rights, and in any case for no longer than 10 years.
- Purposes regarding obligations under EU laws, regulations or legislation, provisions/requirements of authorities empowered to do so by law and/or supervisory and control bodies: your personal data for this purpose may be retained for as long as is necessary to achieve the purposes for which the data were collected, and in any case for no longer than 10 years.
Persons/bodies we can share your personal data with
Your personal data may be accessed by authorized employees and external service providers, where necessary, as data processors, who provide support for providing services, including Ca' Foscari University, which provides the platform hosting the Website.

Your data-protection rights and right to lodge complaints with the supervisory authority
Under the GDPR, you have the right to ask us:
- access to your personal data;
- a copy of the personal data you have provided us ('portability');
- the rectification of data we hold;
- the deletion of any data for which we no longer have any legal basis for processing;
- the withdraw your consent, if the processing is based on consent;
- the limitation of how we process your personal data, within the limits provided by data-protection legislation.
Right to Object: in addition to the above rights, you may object at any time, for reasons related to your specific situation, to the processing of your personal data by the data controller for the pursuit of its legitimate interest. You may also, at any time, object the processing if your personal data is processed for marketing purposes.
The exercise of these rights is free of charge and is not subject to any formal requirements. If you exercise any of the above rights, we will verify that you are authorized to do so and will respond, generally, within one month.
If you believe that the processing of your personal data violates the provisions of the GDPR, you have the right to file with the Data Protection Authority using the references available on the website www.garanteprivacy.it, or to pursue judicial remedies.
