Privacy Policy Statement for Processing the Personal Data of Website Users

The reasons for processing your data

Pursuant to Article 13 of the EU Regulation 2016/679 (‘Regulation’) and Legislative Decree 196/2003 ("Privacy Code"), this page provides information regarding the methods and purposes  of the processing of personal data of users who interact with the website of Fondazione Università Ca’ Foscari ("Fondazione"), available electronically at fondazione.unive.it ("Website").

This notice applies only to this Website and does not extend to other websites, pages or online services that can be reached through hypertext links which may be posted within the Website but which refer to resources outside the Website domain.

The Website can be accessed and used without users needing to provide their personal data; however, data referring to identified or identifiable individuals may be processed as a result of browsing the Website. In addition, in some parts of the Website, you may voluntarily provide some of your personal data for the purposes described under “Types of data processed and purposes of processing”.

Data Controller

The data controller is Fondazione Università Ca’ Foscari Venezia, located at Dorsoduro 3246, 30123, Venice represented by its Director General. Since 2010, the Fondazione has operated as an instrumental entity supporting Ca’ Foscari University.

Types of processed data and specific purposes of processing

Browsing data

During standard operations, the IT systems and software procedures used to operate the Website acquire certain personal data, the transmission of which is an integral part of the use of Internet communication protocols.

This data includes:

  • IP addresses of user devices;
  • Date and time of the request;
  • URI/URL (Uniform Resource Identifier/Locator) addresses of the requested resources;
  • HTTP response status code (successful, error, etc.);
  • Size of the server response in bytes;
  • URI/URL address of the source page (referrer);
  • Browser recognition string (user agent).
     

These data do not remain for more than 15 days, after which, they are automatically deleted (except for any need for the investigation of crimes by a judicial authority).
In addition, data necessary for the use of web services are processed anonymously in order to control the proper functioning of the services provided.

Data provided by the user

The optional, explicit and voluntary sending of messages to the contact addresses of the Fondazione, as well as the completion and submission of the forms on the Website, involved acquiring the sender's contact data in order to reply, as well as any personal data included in the communications.

Specific disclosures are posted in the sections of the Website created for sending such communications aimed at the provision of certain services.

Rights of data subjects

As data subjects, users have the right to request to Fondazione access to and rectification or erasure of their personal data, or the restriction of processing concerning them, or to object to processing (Art. 15 ff. of the Regulation). Requests for the exercise of this rights can be submitted without formalities by contacting the Data Protection Officer directly at:  dpo.fondazione.cf@unive.it.

Users may also disable the recod of cookies on their hard disk by configuring their browsers to disable them (below is the link containing the disabling methods offered by the main browsers:  Google Chrome , Safari, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge). After this operation, however, some functions of the web pages may not run properly.  

Right to Complaint

If users believe that the processing of their personal data violates GDPR provisions, they have the right to lodge a complaint with the Guarantor for the Protection of Personal Data, as per Article 77 of the Regulation, or to take appropriate legal action (Article 79 of the Regulation).
