CFCC - Ca' Foscari Competence Centre

The Ca’ Foscari Competency Centre was created in 2012 on the basis of a tradition of research on emotional, social and cognitive competencies undertaken by Ca’ Foscari in the 1990s.
It is an internationally recognized centre for research and implementation of competency-based methodologies. It collaborates systematically with international scholars who opened the research strand on behavioral competencies and contributed to their analysis in the educational and business contexts.
Researchers of the Ca’ Foscari Competency Centre work primarily in the Venice School of Management, in cooperation with other colleagues operating in other departments and academic schools.
 

Areas of Expertise

Ca’ Foscari Competency Centre (CFCC) carries out research, training and consulting activities in the area concerning the development and assessment of behavioral competencies (soft skills). Its mission is to improve the performance and the employability of people through the development of their competency portfolio.

 

Activities and Services

Ca’ Foscari Competency Centre offers a variety of activities dedicated to students: 

  • PerFORMARE EmotivaMENTE: a set of courses, intensive seminars and laboratories for the analysis and the development of behavioral competencies of Master’s Degree students;
  • PensaFuturo, training module within the labs organized by the Career Centre

CFCC provides services to companies and professionals:

  • Career Lab: development of emotional and social skills for professional success;
  • Development, analysis and assessment of individual competencies
  • Customized support to Human Resource Departments for the design and implementation of competency-based human resource management processes.

CFCC offers training courses for secondary-education teachers aimed at: 

  • Developing the emotional and social skills for better coverage of the professional position;
  • Fostering students' and teachers' awareness of labor market expectations in terms of soft skills;
  • Transferring a methodology for the development of behavioral competencies in the curricular disciplines to be integrated into teaching:
  • Fostering the development and evaluation of soft skills in the work-based learning environment.
