AIKU
Art Industry Culture

aiku

Art, Industry and Culture intersect more and more frequently, for different reasons and with a variety of consequences delineating a significant fraction of the hybrid and interdisciplinary reality of the contemporary world.

The University has a central role in analyzing, understanding and promoting these combinations between fields of knowledge and cultural, economic and social processes. AIKU was born as a tool for this work of interpretation and action by operating in the blurred but crucial perimeter where artistic processes involve economic production while this latter discovers its cultural and creative dimension.

AIKU builds shared value by making culture, creative processes and entrepreneurship interact. It acts as a catalyst of ideas and resources, activates strategic networks, and plans long-term synergies between the business world and the world of culture in innovation.

The center pursues its research activities in the fields of contemporary art and artist residencies for business, corporate museums and heritage, corporate theater and storytelling, museum management and innovation, cultural policy and cultural tourism.

Areas of Expertise

The center, operating at Fondazione Università Ca’ Foscari, embodies the University's third mission activity by transferring the results of academic research into economic and social processes.

AIKU acts by responding to national and European calls and tenders with innovative projects, offering consultancy services and commissioned research in the field of management of cultural and creative organizations, corporate museums, culture-based policies and the interaction between culture and technological and environmental transformations.

Activities and Services

AIKU organizes its activity in the following areas of intervention:

  • Art & Business: Development of art-based products and services for and with companies, through artist residencies, marketing strategies and art-thinking courses.
  • Corporate museums and heritage enhancement: Starting from the analysis of the industrial heritage of each specific reality, the Center develops new storytelling strategies, experiential activities and exhibition solutions aimed at enhancing the history and cultural identity of each company in an artistic and innovative way.
  • Corporate Theater and Storytelling: new communication strategies to promote and reinterpret corporate identity and values in an artistic way, collaborating with the most renowned theater companies in the area.
  • Cultural Heritage, Innovation and Museum Management: application of managerial knowledge to improve communication and processes in museums, innovating and enhancing historical and artistic heritage as a strategic asset.
  • Cultural Policies and Management: development of integrated cultural policies, guiding applications to national and international calls for proposals; management training courses for cultural and creative enterprises to rethink new markets, funding mechanisms and diversification of their value proposition.
  • Cultural tourism and territorial development: Starting from the analysis of the territorial offer, AIKU develops experiential and integrated cultural tourism paths, in a logic of management destination strategy.
